About PFIDeals
The PFIDeals collaboration system provides a secure online workspace and repository for complex commercial and legal transactions. All parties to the transaction can log in, upload, and view relevant documents, and can work together to amend drafts. Once the deal is complete the site remains online as an archive, and to assist with performance reviews.
Dealrooms are used in a range of transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, public finance, public offerings, property deals and venture capital.
The concept is of particular use in PFI deals, where there can be a large number of parties involved, including their various advisors, and there is a need to keep everyone informed of items relevant to their contracts, but without overburdening them with irrelevant information.
The PFIDeals system takes the dealrooms concept a stage further - not only does it provide an online dealrooms environment, familiar to 'magic circle' law firms, but makes it accessible and usable by local authorities and commercial partners - crucially it doesn't simply provide a repository, but provides relevant guidance to help parties new to the process through the project lifecycle - helping to speed the process and increasing the chances of a positive outcome.
The system provides a full audit trail of document changes, along with relevant metadata.
A central contact list and emailing facility means individuals do not need to maintain duplicate address books, and ensures everyone is kept fully informed.
Users can access the system from any location, not just within a corporate LAN.
Security
Security is paramount. Not only must the information be kept secure, but individual parties on the site must only be able to access information directly relating to their part of the contract. PFIdeals' fine-grained security model, allowing an unlimited number of distinct user-groups provides a flexible security model able to handle the most complex of deals.
Secure access
Access to a PFIdeals system is by a secure combination of username and password. Members of the public or other non-authorized visitors arriving are treated appropriately. Tasks or areas of the site that a visitor does not have permission to use are 'hidden', so they are not tantalized by links they cannot use.
User Manager
The User Management section of a PFIdeals system makes it easy both to create and manage Users and assign them to User Groups, and also organize the multiple levels of access that are possible. Each PFIdeals system is provided, pre-configured, with at least two secure levels of access or secure zones. The system, however, allows for an unlimited number of secure zones. This allows the designer to create the most sophisticated site architecture, safely allowing different classes of user to securely work in the same web-space, whilst ensuring total control over their access to secure information.
Documents
PFIdeals provides upload and version information for documents stored within the system. Notes associated with each document allow briefing text to be easily added with each modification.
Email notification
Secure email integration automatically keeps the relevant parties involved. The system keeps secure information on the site, and sends email alerts out informing users of new content without revealing the information itself.
